How to set up vacation approvals?
The approval rules are based entirely on the team tree that you create in the Company / Teams section. If you designate managers on teams, they will be the primary approvers of absences or activities of other team members. If the team does not have a manager, the admin will handle the approval requests.
Currently, it is not possible to set up individual approvers of vacations or other events for selected groups of employees or other individuals. Also, it is not possible to substitute the role of approver when the manager is not at work. The solution here is would be to ask the admin to approve the absence in manager's absence. Alternatively, you can use a special Absence Approver role and assign this role to a representative in the team.
In practice, you will typically see that a user with the manager role approves absences or activities for their team, but at the same time someone must approve them for them. Let's use a simple example to show how to resolve this situation:
Petr Linhart is the manager of the Unit 267 team and approves absences and activities for the users Marketa Testova and Petra Viliamova. However, Peter Linhart's supervisor, Andy Aivar, is supposed to approve his activities. Therefore, Petr is a regular member of the Field Brno team, whose manager is Mr. Aivar.

Overtime - recording and compensation
Records of overtime work and its reporting including the use of compensatory time off.We record overtime as the balance (difference) between the set working hours and the timesheet. This can be obtained either by recording time worked in the Activities module or by recording arrivals and departures via the electronic attendance system.
In both cases, the balance can be found in the Clock-in and Clock-out Report or the Activity Report. The transfer and compensation of overtime is not automatic in Sloneek. This is because it is independent of the legislation of each country.
Transfer of overtime to exhaustion (compensatory time off)
To take time off, first create a new absence event. You create it as a Free type with an HOURLY annual fund with a unit of use by hours. which you set to "0":
You will assign the event to each user individually or in bulk as they first become eligible to take compensatory time off.
Because you most likely want the compensatory time off to be taken in the year in which it is earned, you will incrementally increase the fund in the Fund for this year column as the eligibility to take it is earned over time.Example
On January 1 an employee is entitled to 5 hours of compensatory time off.
In the absence event assigned to a specific user, you enter 5 in the Fund for the first year field.
On February the employee has an additional entitlement to 3 hours compensatory time off.
You increase the value in the Fund for this year column by 3 to 8. You increase the balance gradually, which also records for reporting purposes the number of hours of compensatory time off that the user had in a particular year.Basis for payment of overtime hours
If you have decided to pay overtime, just create one of the reports above. The key is the balance value, which determines the amount of overtime compared to the set working hours.

What are the rules for approving events?
The approval rules are based entirely on the organizational structure, or team tree, that you create in the Company / Teams section. If you designate managers on teams, they will be the primary approvers of absences or activities of other team members. If the team does not have a manager, the admin will handle the approval requests.

I can't log in - the account is not active
If the app says "Your account is not active, please contact support or your account administrator" when you log in, there are 3 common reasons for this:
- The user enters a different email address than the one listed in the user tab (Users / Management, in the user detail, the first tab Basic and Work data).
- In the user's tab (Users / Management, in the user detail, the first tab Work data) the option "User is active" is not checked. This option must be ticked.
- In the user's tab (Users / Management, in the user detail, the first tab Basic and Work data)
the field "Date of leaving the company.
If none of these options resolve the login issue, contact support. -
How do I enter a work contract type?
In Sloneek, you can create and assign all types of timesheets and work collaborations to users. Go to the Settings / Work contracts setup section where you will find several options:- Use weekly or annual working hours for your full-time or part-time employee (see this article for how to create, set up and assign them).
- For contractors, create a work setup type in the same way and set the days and hours you and your contractors agree on delivering the work according to your contract. For contractors, it is often crucial to track worked time via activities.
When you have everything ready, you can assign these work contracts to your users in their folders under the Contract and Payroll tab.

What is the difference between Work location and Country of operation?
Work location
Within Sloneek, a work location refers to the physical address or location from which employees work. The setting of these locations is then closely related to company attendance and recording of arrivals and departures. A work location can be, for example, a specific department store (OC Futurum), a production centre (Prague-Vinohrady) or an office (Office Vienna).
You can assign a work location to a user in their card:Country of operation
The country of operation, on the other hand, is important in the calculation of the work fund and absences. If you have employees from different countries, it is often necessary to take into account public holidays in their countries. If you assign a user to a country of operation, you will also be able to see their public holidays clearly in the calendar when you filter the user. More details about this functionality here.
You assign a country of operation to each user in their tab: -

Can I activate users in bulk?
If you upload users to the app manually, you cannot currently activate users in bulk. You must activate them one by one. The easiest way to do this is in the Users / Management, by clicking on the three dots next to the users and clicking Activate.
We are working on the bulk activation feature.
When onboarding into Sloneek, we recommend taking advantage of the option to have our support team bulk import users into the app. During this bulk import, you can set whether you want to activate the user directly.
